This pull request updates the copy of the Thank You
page which currently doesn’t convey the asynchronous nature of the G Suite provisioning process – something that leads users to cancel their G Suite subscription if they haven’t received the email with their credentials soon after seeing this page. It also refines the headings which were misleading in some cases:
New G Suite account purchased
Before |
After |
|
|
New G Suite account purchased at the same time than a domain
Before |
After |
|
|
New G Suite license purchased
Before |
After |
|
|
I’ve disabled the brown heading in this case as the G Suite account would have already been activated successfully, so it’s probably less important to catch the user’s attention here. I’m happy to revert that if someone has strong opinion about it though.
Testing instructions
- Run
git checkout update/gsuite-thank-you-copy
and start your server, or open a live branch
- Open the
Email
page
- Purchase a G Suite account
- Assert that the copy on the
Thank You
page matches what is mentioned above
- Purchase an additional license for that account
- Assert that the copy on the
Thank You
page matches what is mentioned above
Note it is possible to avoid purchasing a new account and additional licenses if you already have a G Suite account. In that case, you can simply locate the receipt id in our Payment Admin, and loads the following url:
http://calypso.localhost:3000/checkout/thank-you/:site/:receipt_id
